What’s the problem?

Only in a few cases do spiders actually pose a health risk to people.  While black widow and brown recluse spiders are not native to Maine the do occasionally show up in items that have been delivered from warmer areas.

What’s the solution?

Reducing the food source for spiders is step number one.  Turning outside lights off at night will limit the attraction of other pests which spiders feed on.  Controlling other pests inside will also limit the number of spiders that are in the home.  Material applications can also be used as a supplement to these recommendations to maximize control of the spiders.
